Frog Hunting: Sexy, But Not Too Sexy

I was running out the door to go to a movie before meeting another guy for drinks. I realized the tank I was wearing had an open back and figured this wasn’t the right message to send on a first date. I ran back inside to grab a change of clothes for after the movie.

My roommate astutely noticed when I arrived home later. She remarked, “Weren’t you wearing something else when you left this afternoon?”

“Yeah, yeah. I had a date and figured I shouldn’t wear my sexy shirt to the first date.”

Then it dawned on me: I was willing to wear my sexy shirt to the movies—by myself. But on date? I’m clearly new at this.

Casanova would never have made such a mistake.

Yes, I understand that I just compared my 33-years-and-never-been-kissed to Casanova, but I’m feeling super empowered and feminine right now.

Six dates in one week will do that to a woman.

At this point I realized I needed to up my date preparation game and added a regular change of clothes, deodorant, and makeup to my work bag—just in case.
