On a Scale of 1 to 10

Too much seriousness around here. Time for something less weighty...like boys.  Thanks, little bro, for this conversation. Way to keep it real.

Caleb:  So on a scale of  1-10, what is this guy?
Me: 10.
Caleb: He can’t be a 10.
Me: He is.
Caleb: He can’t be a 10. A 10 is basically Jesus.
Me: Are we rating their looks or other things?
Caleb: Looks.
Me: He’s a 10.
Caleb: He can’t be a 10. It’s impossible for him to be a 10.
Me: What are you talking about? I say he’s a 10, he’s a 10.
Caleb: He is, by far, the best looking person you’ve ever seen?
Me: No, but he’s still a 10.
Caleb: See, if there is someone else cuter than THEY are a 10. If you see someone that’s cuter than him, he’s already a 10 so where would you put the guy that’s cuter?
Me: They can be 11. Your scale makes no sense.
Caleb: It makes perfect sense. There is no 11. Where would you put me on the scale?
Me: 8.
(no response)
Me: 7.
(no response)
Me: 6.
Caleb: He can’t be a 10, because then you’re saying he’s the cutest guy you’ve ever met.
Me: He’s definitely one of the cutest guys I’ve ever met. He’s a 10 if I say he’s a 10. Where would you put me on the scale?
Caleb: 4.
Me: 4! I’m not even average!
Caleb: Average is a 2.
Me: Caleb! Your scale makes no sense. And you’re just jealous of this guy’s 10.
Caleb: I’m not jealous, it’s just impossible for him to be a 10.
Me: Your scale makes no sense.
